I wish I could be a little alternative baby/kid, born into mainstream alternative royalty. It would be sweet to have a dad who was in one of the most popular maltstream bands of all time. It would also be 'pretty sweet' if ur dad was some1 like Tony Hawk, or something like that, bc then u could 'get xtreme' and 'play video games.

I wonder if I would rather have Blink182dad as a dad, or FallOutDad as ur dad. Feel like Pete Wentz might be 'embarassing' because Fall Out Boy's songs are 'hella ghey' in a tweeny kind of way. Also, u might get made fun of at school since he took 'cock pix.' Would be sweet to have Jessica Simpson as ur mom, though. Heard she has 'sweet jugs' [via Nick Lachey]

Would feel sweet having Blink182bro as ur dad. Feel like he writes songs that u could actually relate to. He would also be pretty appreciative about life, since he almost lost a bro [via tragic plane crash]. Think that both dads are 'loaded', so you could probably be a consumerCore kid during ur youth years, where you are encouraged to have a loud personality, and possibly have long hair.

were parents who were famous
(but at least rich)
they would encourage me to 'be myself'
Even if I didn't get good grades
bc they could get me a kewl job
when I graduated from HS
and didn't want 2 go 2 college

One of the saddest songs in the world is "Adam's Song" by Blink 182. Don't get me wrong, it is a GREAT song, but so emotional... it took me really close 2 the edge 1 time.

I thought I had had enough, and it would be easier to end it all, then "Adam's Song" came on the radio and I FINALLY FELT LIKE SOME1 UNDERSTOOD THE DEPTHS OF MY PAIN. so I decided 2 stay alive and I have been a HUGE Blink 182 fan ever since. #pray4TravisBarker

Mark Hoppus is auctioning off the ORIGINAL lyrics sheet to "Adam's Song." #OMFG #BallerStatus

I REALLY WANT TO BUY THIS, but it would probably cost me more than my annual income :-( #ineedaraise

Mark auctioned off the original lyric sheet for "Rock Show" last week and pulled in $18,000 for the piece of paper it was first written on -- but considering "Adam's Song" is one of Blink's biggest songs ever ... he could easily top that when his new auction launches on eBay later today.

As for other Blink items on the auction block -- Mark is donating the bass guitar he used to record most of "Enema of the State" ... as well as the flag used in the music video for "Feeling This."

<3 <3 <3 this song

Honestly I still listen to it when I'm feeling down. It really helps me, but I LOVE all of their songs from Enemies of the State.

I remember 1 time, Mark Hoppus, 1 of the chill bro cool dads from Blink 182 tweeted that he 'absolutely loved' Animal Collective [link]. It seems like now he wrote something about how he 'totally loves' Best Coast, attempting to 'uncover' her.

So weird how indie buzzbands are getting so much mainstream acclaim. Kinda jeal/bitter. I feel like I was 'the first person' 2 get into these bands, so now that they are going mnstrm, just really bitter. Wish 'tastemakers' got more credit/had equity in these buzzbands.

Damn. Just want to learn more about how Mark Hopbro found out about the Best Coasts.

WHERE HOPP HEARD THEM FIRST:
"One of the writers-producers on A Different Spin actually suggested that I check out Best Coast. He's way into the indie rock scene, has good taste, and has never steered me wrong, so I bought the album before hearing any of the music. Glad I did."

WHY THEY ROCK:

Mark Hoppbro then 'calls out' Best Coast 4 having crappy grammar. Seems like an 'attack' on her song writing skills to make sure she 'knows her place.'

HOPP'S TOP TRACK:
"'Boyfriend.' It's all in the hook, which is simply: 'I wish he was my boyfriend.' Side note: Technically, the line should be 'I wish he WERE my boyfriend.' It's called the subjunctive, people!!!"

Would Best Coast be a more successful artist if she got all better at grammar and wrote better songs abt life/boys/dank?

Mark Hoppus, the bass player for Blink 182, has one of the zaniest personal brands in the history of popular musicians. Some say that Blink 182 is responsible for the wide acceptance Tom Green humor in the late 1990s.
