Carles Presents MEME: a Blog Post on HIPSTERRUNOFF.com

MEME is a blog post on HIPSTER RUNOFF. MEME is presented by Carles.

What happens if 1 meme changed everything we once knew about memes, changing the way that we meme, and shattering pre-existing notions of memery? Is the world ready for this meme? So many memes--but when can a meme be more than 'just another meme in the meme economy'?

MEME. Presented by Carles.

Carles asks: Can 1 meme ...change the world?

What’s the difference between fashion, design, art, and memes?

This is an image of a high fashion show where a hot model is wearing clothes with a sunny side up egg on it. I think she also has a baguette on her head. She might be some sort of transformer who transforms in2 a picnic. Not sure what the dress is trying to 'say', but I think it has sometimes to do with survival, and how we have to go grocery shopping to stay alive, instead of being a hunter and gatherer. Might also have to do with the death of the nuclear family.

I know that I am kind of a 'fashion blog' but sometimes I don't 'get' fashion. It seems like the most bloggable looks are stuff that are too expensive for even upper-middle class people to buy. And most people 'don't look like models' so they look like they are 'trying too hard' when they try 2 look 'all cool and fashion-forward.' It makes me sad when I see poor people who wear 'clothes for poor people that they think are cool, trendy, and sexy.'

Every1 is just trying their best to look presentable and modern. Kinda sad when people 'try 2 b sexie' when they aren't.

I feel like if I saw some girl with eggs on her, it would make me think she is 'trying too hard 2 be kutesy' and probably needs to focus on developing a more intense sexual identity, instead of seeking shelter in deceptive kutesy aesthetics which represent a reluctance to 'grow up.'

UGH. Still haven't figured out what's the difference between design, art, and memes?

Sometimes I just feel like we live in a world where every1 is just trying 2 b blggd about. Kinda like that 'In the future, every one will be world-famous for 15 minutes' quote by Andy Warhol, except it'll be m0re like:

"In the future, everyone will be internet-famous for 15 blog minutes."

What’s the difference between art, design, and memes?

Yall. I'm kinda confused. When I went away to design school, I knew that I wanted to express myself. It's kinda hard 2. It's like the way that people consume and interpret information has totally changed. It keeps changing.

DOES N E 1 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ART, DESIGN, AND MEMES?

I was looking at the FFFFound website, and it made me totally confused.

Is this art or a meme?

Is this art or a viral meme packaged as 'authentic' due to 'relevant commentary on the state of society'?

h8 u Banksy. H8 u graffiti 'art' memes.

Is this a marketing viral meme by the Lego corporation, or just an internet meme that I am supposed to marvel at for 3.5 seconds, or art?

Is this art or meme or high priced gimmick art?

Is this architecture or just a meme marketing gimmick?

Is this art or just a viral marketing gimmick featuring Taye Zonday?

I'm just trying 2 design, yall. Want 2 change the world.

Do yall ever feel confused about the media that ur supposed 2 consume?
Don't yall feel like photography has s000 been cheapened by digital cameras?
Don't u wish u could live without the internet so u could experience art/memes/design?
Things r getting s0 modern. I always assumed that as things got more post-post-pre-modern, that we'd finally all 'get it.' These days I don't get n e thing.
Just want 2 understand what I'm supposed 2 appreciate in order 2 understand what's happening in the world, carry on relevant conversations with well-informed people about relevant topics, and be able to process this information in an efficient, valuable manner.
/// NOT READY 4 THE W0RLD ///
//// s0 much information, yall

My Authentic Life Is Full of Authentic Props (in my Authentic Apartment)

How many authenticAlt props can u count in this video?
The person who guesses + itemizes them correctly will receive a case of Diet Rock Star NRG drink.

This is my idea of a perfect day. This is my authentic life. One day, I will be the star of a meaningful reality show shot with my best altBagBro's HighDefinition camera which he obtained with a Canadian Art grant. It will be an opportunity to showcase my environment. This is my personal space (my apartment is a well designed space). This is my meaningful major metropolitan area. I will walk around the city, and I will cover walls with printed out 'meaningful statements typed in Helvetty' on 8.5x11 paper. My contribution to society will be converting 'internet memes' into 'real life' memes [via computer paper + my HP inkjet printer].

The overall tone of this video is 'hopeful' and with a healthy dose of 'meaningful.'
Kinda wonder if it was shot b4 or after Obama won the Presidenthingy.
