There were tons of ‘MJ impersonators.’ It seems hard to look like MJ at the time of his death, since he looked so scary. This bro seems like he has too many ‘black features.’

Saw some ‘artist’ who decided to try to sell her MJ doodles.

Ran into my aunt. she was selling some of her ‘jewelry line.’

My uncle brought a suitcase full of magazines 2 sell.

My other aunt was selling a bunch of burned CDs of MJ’s greatest hits.

I think that the marketing team behind Animal Collective are ‘pure geniuses.’ Not only did they ‘perfectly brand’ MerriPostWeather Pavillions, and totally ‘overhauled’ the band’s general brand–they also know how to ‘inject the band into relevant discussions.’ I think this was filmed ‘before MJ died’, but I feel like they somehow knew that ‘MJ was going to die’, and wanted to ‘get as much buzz as possible.’

Sometimes it is important to ‘jump on a megameme‘, such as the MJ death. If you are important/famous/relevant enough, people are ‘interested in hearing what u have to say’ about a newsworthy event. Feels like it is ‘beneficial for content providers’ for an ‘alive famous person’ to reflect upon a ‘dead famous person.’ U can then ‘write a blog news story post’ about it, and get ‘mad hits.’ I think it is important to seem ’sad’ and ‘appreciative’ when some1 who was somewhat influential dies. Sometimes it also seems appropriate to be ’shocked.’

Not sure who is the ‘kewlest’ member of AnCo. Think that Panda ’seems chill.’ Not sure if Avey is ‘well-branded’ in a Gilligan hat/bucket hat. I feel like Geologist’s gimmick of ‘wearing a headlamp’ seems like a great one, but I think he needs to ‘commit himself’ to the gimmick 100%, and wear the headlamp during all hours of the day.

Was listening to GorillaVsBear’s ’summer mix’ and thought all of this music might be what the post-MJ world is all about.

Think that this song by BEST COAST is possibly ‘lofi.’ Not sure if it is ‘trying to be good.’ I think it is just sort of chilling. Think that since most music was ‘trying to be MJ’ we will stop ‘trying to be perfect pop’ and just sort of ‘chill.’

Wonder if WAVVES is the next MJ [via 'meltdown'/Xanax]. Wonder if ‘electro’ is all dead since every1 who ‘makes electro’ pretends to ’suck MJs peen’ [via French electro artists].

I am a bro who is afraid of germs. Typically, germs are considered to be tiny organisms, or living things, that can cause disease. I am very afraid of dying, and usually wear swine flu masks in public, as well as gloves that protect my hands.

However, I am also afraid of nontraditional germs. I am afraid of germs that are ‘poisonous ideas.’ I am afraid of things like ‘racism’, ‘bad fashion’, and anything that might taint the purity of my authenticity. I must protect myself from germs. I am germabrobe.

I have created a personal brand/a sense of reality and most of the ideas/people/objects/oxygen that I will encounter today are direct threats 2 who I am as a person. My body is a temple. My mind is a temple. My soul is a temple. My personal brand is a temple. I must protect myself much like George W. Bush protected the United States against ‘the brown people of the Eastern World.” Much like terrorists don’t ‘get’ our freedom, mainstreamers/general-bros do not ‘get’ me.

I think Michael Jackson might have been the original Germaphobe-for-the-sake-of-keeping-bad-ideas-away. Feel like he was just a chill lil guy who wanted to ’stay a child’ and not be exposed to the terrors/downfalls of humanity. He needed to live in a reality where ‘playing with urself & other fellow children’ was ‘okay’–in a world where ‘age is just a number.’

Michael Jackson was protecting his version of reality. He is the greatest entertainer of all-time, therefore he does not need to breathe the same air that ‘normal people’ do. He can’t afford to get ill from germs [via the commonman]. In order to be a relevant symbol/public figure, u must let the world know that u r above ‘regular’ public spaces, societal norms, governing laws, and basically just about everything.

Being a cultural germaphobe is more than just a personal branding decision. It is kinda like some sort of ‘very passionate, no-bullshit ideology’ 4 people who want to live ‘a better life.’

I’ve read in some pop culture gossip magazines that Kanye is trying 2 ‘be the Michael Jackson of this generation.’ Not sure if he can do it, cuz things are s000 different now. There wasn’t really any sort of intranet/internet for things to go viral on, and ‘design’ was so different back then. We all just had such different expectations of cutting edge culture, and we weren’t as reflective. MJ was ‘a genius’ back then, but kinda wish he was in his prime now so that our ’society’ could basically ‘execute him’ [via pressure that he couldn't handle/grasp/cope with].

I feel like inside of Kanye and MJ are people who are ‘kinda the same’ but there’s probably 1 core difference that I’m trying 2 identify. Do yall know what it is?

When u think about it, I think ‘being cool’ is just trying 2 b a tastemaker for people who still ‘honor the concept of ‘cool’.’ (this means u r trying to be a white tween tastemaker).

Do yall think that if BLIPSTERDOM existed when MJ was an adolescent, he would have found a personal brand that would have prevented him from being a weirdo child preddy? Is Kanye West ‘a ghey’ or just ‘too cultured’ for other rappers to ‘get’?

when it comes to older musicians who dress up in costumes to perform, do u think there is a time that they need to ‘retire’ dressing up like creatures/painting their faces/wearing zany costumes, etc?

For example, the girl from the band Bjork is probably like 40, and I think some1 needs to go 2 her concert and have a lecture with her about ‘growing up.’

It’s pretty interesting to think about ‘indie’ bands and these modern DJs performing on Late Night shows. I’m sure this is probably a new wave of ‘creative performance models’ that Animal Collective should have been able to use during “#1″ on Conan. Acts or songs that aren’t made to perform on stage of a late night show do need a little bit of flexibility. Even crazier than the typical Flaming Lips gimmicks.
