Some ‘respected’ U.K. magazine makes list of ’50 artists who are going 2 alter the future of music

Sometimes I read blogs that post 'relevant stories' that were generated by magazines. I am not sure if music magazines will still be alive in _ years, but I think that their last opportunities to 'get people to visit their websites' means making 'huge lists' where they list a bunch of blogworthy/noteworthy people, then get 'the entire internet' to react to it, as if their 'editorial staff' is a group of people who are 'way more qualified' than a 'bro who started a blogspot.'

I think that 'NME Magazine' is something that exists in the United Kingdom. From what I understand, lots of artists try to 'get buzz' in the UK or something, then they try to 'make it cool in the USA.' Kinda like the Spice Girls. Sometimes it catches on, but sometimes it doesn't [via David Beckham/The Office]. I think that life is different in the United Kingdom, and they are into different aesthetics, so I feel 'pissed' when Americans want to 'seem more european' so they'll pretend 2 like British stuff. Feel like it is kewler to 'like' French + scandinavian stuff [via IKEA]. Possibly Japan.

America is #1, and I feel like the USA is the kewlest country in the world. h8 the british buzz gimmick.

N e ways... NME made this list of 'artists who are going 2 change music/art/everything' in the future. Here is the 'deep blurbe' that NME 'wrote' abt the list:

In times of economic uncertainty everyone always yawns on about people hankering for familiarity and hiding in nostalgia. But that just doesn’t seem to make much sense. Surely it’s more reassuring to know that things are progressing and developing rather than lying stagnant?

After watching the 2009 Future 50 take shape, it is now our firmly-held belief that no matter what happens to us – come further financial meltdown, come raining sulphur or plagues of locusts, come the new Twang album, even – everything will fall into place. One day it will all make sense.

Here is NME's 'future 50' list, with HRO's 'criticism'/'analysis:

50. Gaggle - not sure who/what this is. Remember 1 time I 'invented' tuggles of AZNs.
49. Xenomania -seems like a 'Peter Jackson' movie
48. Invasion - Not sure what this is.
47. Yo Gabba Gabba! - just a gimmick 4 kids + parents to buy 'kewl street clothes with zany creatures' + 'collab with relevant artists
46. Diesel:U:Music Radio - think that the Diesel brand probs 'paid' for this somehow [via advertising].  Seems like a 'widget' or something.
45. Cooly G - seems like a 'mashup' of Coolio and Warren G
44. Star And Shadow Cinema - Might be a movie theatre with 'stadium seating.'
43. Sonar Festival - are all music festivals 'the same'
42. Blackout Crew - Seems like a group of frat bros who 'date rape' bitches and came up with a sweet facebook group
41. 3OH!3 - music 4 kidz who r trapped in suburbia / fggts
40. Stephen McGregor - Must be Ewan MacGregor's son 'gravy training' off his dad's fame.

39. Opera - I think this is some sort of 'internet browser'
38. Aldene Johnson and Hannah Marshall - Sounds like 2 girls who look keut and make mediocre music
37. Project Natal - Probably something about 'abortion'
36. Lady GaGa - hope she 'has a meltdown' somehow.
35. Rostam Batmanglij - Think this is the Vampy Weekend keyboardist bro.
34. Hyperdub - sounds like a 'ghey ass' genre of music
33. Seb Chew - sounds like an azn genre of music, like 'eating noodles with a lot of bass'
32. Sweden - not sure if this is 'the country' or a pop star
31. Greg Kurstin - wish it was Greg Kinnear [via Lil Miss Sunshine].  Sad that Joel McHale will never be the actor that Greg Kinnear is [via Talk The Soup]
30. Beck - via the year 19k90

29. Sonic Boom - This was a 'move' by Guile, a character in streetfighter. Was a 'sweet move' but I think 'Hadouken' is already a band name.
28. Take That's stage show - I remember 'Take That' sang this sweet song about wanting u back 4 good.

</embed>

27. Bandstocks.com/Patrick Wolf - seems like some sort of product placement.  Not sure if Patty Wolf is 'still a band' or just some brand that is co-marketed with magazines+websites.
26. Micachu - I think this is a jewish rapper who ppl think is 'kewl'. might be band, or possibly a guitar bro.
25. Salem - I think that they are 'buzzworthy' and will probably accidentally see them within the next 2 years.
24. Gigbaby - Seems like an octomom meme (R.I.P.)
23. The Dream - I think this is a 'producer turned artist' black guy.  Seems like they had to put 'a black person' on this list.
22. Ray Tintori - sounds like 'Ray Liotta'
21. Platform - sound like 'pavement'

20. The Big Pink - I have heard that they are 'overhyped by the UK media'.  Seems like I won't listen to them for a year or two, then when I hear them, they will make me feel the same way that the dirtieprojjies do
19. Twitter - Seems 'relevant.'  Heard that u can use it to tell people where ur chilling and meetup to share pictures or something.
18. Popjustice - Think this is Justice's sideproject
17. Mike Sniper - I think this is the bro who 'shot up people' from the top of the tower at the University of Texas in Austin
16. Nick Zinner - seems like a guy whose name showed up on your caller ID when caller ID was first invented
15. Norwich - Think this is a 'city'
14. Bradford Cox - It is important 4 magazines to 'hype up' artists that are 'obviously going to be successful' just so that they can feel like 'they did it.'
13. Mattias Arrelid - confused
12. Dan The Automator - sounds like a 'fat person's nickname'
11. Blocks Recording Club - Confused

10. La Roux - I am still trying to understand if this is a band/girl/bro or something. Seems to have an overwhelming marketing reach.
9. Little Boots - Not sure if she is still 'relevant.' Think she just had an album that was 'huge' in the UK.
8. VBS.TV - Have never watched it. Think they make stuff that is 'too serious'. Just want to 'look at those fucking hipsters.' I think they make 'mad ad revenue' though or something.
7. Jack White - Feel like I am waiting for this bro to do something 'legitimately crazy.' Like 'taking a poop' on Conan O'brien's desk, or 'beating some1 until they almost die and settling out of court', or something.
6. The XX - They will be 'solid' and 'heavily relied upon' for putting meaningful songs on a mix CD 4 a girl.
5. Omar Souleyman - seems like a 'souley' bro
4. Dizzee Rascal - I think he was 'indie' in 2k4 [via 'hipster hop']
3. Trent Reznor - Still don't 'get' the obsession with legacy artists who say 'obvious things' but are 'glorified' for being 'fucking geniuses about the modern music industry.'  Seems like he is 'respectable' but don't understand why 'indie outlets' need 2 'cover him.'
2. The Knife - Remember when they were 'relevant' in 2k_. Maybe they have a new album coming out. Seems weird that they 'totally sat out' the bloghouse era. I think that they will make some sort of 'really good album' that I will resent.  Wonder if they will make new 'cock nose' masks.

1. Animal Collective - 's00000 0bvious.' Christ. The should at least do something stupid, like write out the 'real name' of a band member. Like write out 'Noah Lennox is #1.' or possibly 'Noah Lennox's twitter feed is #1.'

Feel pretty ______ about this 'list.' Feel happy/sad that magazines are dying. Seriously feel 'sad' for a bro who doesn't read the internet, and only reads NME magazine, and thinks this list is 'cutting edge.' Worried that if I go blind, I won't be able to consume the internet, and I would just have to listen to radio.

What do yall think of NME's list?
Is it 'relevant'?
Will all of these people/bands/websites 'change the world/art/music' or something?
Do British people 'know what the fuck they are talking about'?
If u were a magazine, what would u do to 'utilize ur brand' to 'get blog + twitter chatter' going?
Is Animal Collective reall going 2 'change the world'?
Is Twitter really more important than Lady Gaga?
Who would be on ur list for 'bros who are gonna shatter society's norms'?

Remember the time that NME 'made a list' of the Top 25 indie American bands?
http://www.hipsterrunoff.com/2008/08/1-list-of-25-bands-that-kind-of-hurts-americas-image.html

1 List of 25 Bands That Kind of Hurts America's Image :-(

Have yall read about how America doesn't have any good artists n e more, and how we have to import our culture from France/the UK/Australia/Jappy-an/Scandinavia/Estonia in order to stay on the cutting edge of global alt status?

Fortunately, NME compiled a list of bands that have kept America c00l.

According to NME, these r 25 bands that r 'making America cool again.' I think they got some of them wrong.

HRO [EXCLUSIVE] BREAKDOWN

1 Vampire Weekend - is it Alt to hate them? or is it alt-er to transcend 'hating them'? or is it alt-est to pretend you don't really know who they are?
2 Lil Wayne - filling the quarterly demand for a rapper that it is [highly regarded] as being historically significant by white people who like to pretend that pop-rap is an important reflection on the social evolution of African Americans that they feel tolerant about 'identifying with'
3 Glass Candy - a band making your electroblog authentic again/ 1 band with the #1 MILF in alt music
4 Kings Of Leon - I have heard 1.5 of their songs. They will probably be around forever and I will never give them a chance.
5 MGMT - Please direct your attention to this post about why uninteresting people think they are supposed to like MGMT.
6 Spank Rock - 1 post-post-ironic sex-core think-piece rapper. If I were a black person, I would h8 him for 'making fun of us and thinking he is s00 smart/artsy.'
7 TV On The Radio - I think they would choose to be from another country if they had the opportunity, since it would make them 'more authentic.'

8 Boy Crisis - with a name like that, they are probably going after the market of people who like to say 'GIRL TALK'. But SRSLY...who is that?
9 Black Kids - 1 band that I will never learn the difference between them + The Cool Kids
10 Holy Ghost Revival -Is this HOLY GHOST! or some different band?
11 The Hold Steady - for some reason I think this band is from the emo-era of 2k0
12 Fleet Foxes - Am I not a good American if I haven't bothered to look into finding a way to appreciate them? Does n e 1 know if they are meaningful? Or are they one of those post-2k8 semi-meaningful-authentic bands that probably should have come around in 2005 so they wouldn't be cannibalized by blogs. (Being cannibalized by bl0gs only works for electro-ish artists, but they aren't expecting to get paid.)
13 Amazing Baby - Have they been blggd abt? They might as well be a local band that I ignore.
14 Jay Reatard - He has an interesting name, but otherwise, I shouldn't know who he is. Does n e 1 know if he is retarded IRL? Is that his stage gimmick?
15 HEALTH - I wonder what these concept bros are up to. Is there a HEALTH backlash after 2 many remixes?
16 The Cool Kids - 1 band that I will never learn the difference between them + The Black Kids
17 Black Lips - Do they sing the song about Hurricane Katrina? Are they one of those bands like NO AGE that sux, but 'people appreciate them'?
18 Yo Majesty - With that kind of name, they are either an overweight black rapper, or a UK 'highly regarded' retro-ish band
19 White Denim - another band that high-end alts acclimate themselves to since GVB enjoys them. I <3 the power of the gorillvsbear. It's cool because I have been GVBed, therefore, I am significant.
20 Telepathe - Sounds like they are from France.
21 Iglu & Hartly - Huh? They must have gone to high school with the magazine editor.
22 Chester French -Who?
23 Girl Talk - I wonder if he'd be bigger if he was from France/Japan? Based on the fact that he is on this list, it means that he is America's #1 DJ. R u comfortable with that? I'd rather have him representing us in the DJ Olympics instead of some guido/eurotrash d-bag playing tacky thump-house music.
24 The Death Set - they probably have a ghey logo/ gheyer fans
25 Grace Jones - Is that the woman who looks like she is made out of plastic/used to be a mummy?

If NME really wanted to help rebuild America's image, they should have written an article that declared 'all other countries bl0w/r full of inauthentic 'fggts'.'

I don't even believe in 'countries' any more, yall. Borders = s0 2k7. I feel like we're all just citizens of Blogville in the United States of the Alt-Internet. It doesn't matter where n e 1 is even from... I just want a free mp3 and I want to see 'the next big band' more than 6 months before they are 'big.'

America is fine. We just need to find a way to make sure that ________ ends up as the President. I heard he is going to lower the legal ______ age for entry level alts/lil alts. He will also pass an electro-tax that is meant to give money to myspace bands. They are also in talks to distribute a copy of Ableton Live to every single child in a public school.

If NME wants to help America get a better image, they need to start at the ground level. They need to get kids portable hypemachine players to replace their iPods/satellite radios. Our generation is lost. We just need to work for the future, and focus on alt-lectro education. That's the only way to win THE WAR ON lofi/garage/cockrock/fggtcore/meaningfulcore/underwhelming-indie TERROR.

'The only way to save our world is to Americanize it. Especially the brown-ish countries that believe in 2ManyGods.'
-HIPSTER RUNOFFS

An Itemized Analysis of NME's Cool List. Is this the uncoolest list evr?

NME is sorta like the lamestreamer who ruins anything that might have been considered remotely cool just because they like it. To them, 'jumping on a hype bandwagon' is pretty arbitrary, but at the same time, it can be predictable because the UK isn't really a 'tastemaker.' They are the type of country who thinks MUSE, The Killers, and Kings of Leon are 'the best bands on the planet.' Don't get me wrong, the USA is effed up too because we keep worshipping Radiohead. But I'd rather live in a 3rd World Country where I only listened to emo and dubstep than be into what is considered 'cool' in the UK. As far as I'm concerned, this is basically some sort of industry blacklist.

Anyways, NME released a 'Cool List', which is just an excuse to 'make a list of shit' that ppl 'get excited about', publicists can act like it 'means something', and unfortunately for the some of these artists, this is the biggest accomplishment of their career. It will be the first and last time I ever hear of them.

Do u <3 lists of shit?
Do u agree with this list?
Are these ppl 'kewl' / innovative / 'it' / 'now' / 'the future'?

BREAKDOWN OF NME'S 2011 COOL LIST
50 Liam Gallagher - Is that the bro in Oasis who writes the songs or the one who sings the songs? Didn't they breakup or something? Are they the MGMT of the 90s bc they never wrote any songs as good as "Wonderwall" after their debut?
49 Ronnie Vannucci (The Killers/Big Talk) My name is Brandon Flowers, and I'm a Mormon.

</embed>

48 St. Vincent U gotta feel bad for Annie Clark 4 not even being 'cool enough' to place in the top 10.
47 Merrill Garbus (tUnE-yArDs) I wonder if 'crazy woman screaming'-core is big in the UK
46 Reni (The Stone Roses) Are they referring to the failed 90s alt rock band Remy Zero?
45 Johnny Llloyd (Tribes) Sounds like a guy who is a bouncer at a bar.
44 Jordan Gatesmith (Howler) Sounds like a bro who just wants to howl [via being a wolf]
43 Toddla T Is this the rap career of that kid who stole a car and cruised it around town bc he wanted 2 do hoodrat things?

</embed>

42 Nick Wire (Manic Street Preachers) Sounds like a bro who is a human made out of a wire.
41 Bethany Costentino (Best Coast) This would be excusable in 2k10, but 2k11 was a Bethany-free year
40 Orlando Higginbottom (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) Sounds like a children's book.
39 Fred Macpherson (Spector) Sounds like a bro
38 King Krule This lil ginger bro keeps trying to get forced down our buzz throats, but no1 is really buying it.
37 Björk She's probably as low as #37 on Iceland's Cool List.
36 Frank Turner Sounds like a guy who u went to HS with who wants to be a cop.
35 Tyler, The Creator (Odd Future) If u a magazine editor, Tyler the Creator should be in the top 10 of anything because of the pageviews he generates in 2k11. However, English ppl generally h8 black ppl.
34 Ian Brown (The Stone Roses) Sounds like some bro in a crappy VH1 rock band.
33 Hayden Thorpe (Wild Beasts) Sounds like some random bro in a band
32 Miles Kane No clue who this is.
31 ASAP Rocky Isn't this some other thug-ass indie rapper who is getting buzz? I wonder if he is 'the Lupe Fiasco of indie rap'. I don't know what that means.
30 Kanye West I guess he will always be 'kewl', even when he is an old man who can't wipe his own ass.
29 Kurt Vile Always hear this bro's name but never did anything relevant enough 2 invade my sphere of relevancy.
28 Tom Cohen (Scum) Is his dad Leonard Cohen?
27 Drake British ppl h8 mainstream American rap. They would probably put that dumb white rapper who is called THE STREETS higher than Drake.
26 PJ Harvey Wasn't this dude 'kewl' in the 1990s or something?
25 Christopher Owens (Girls) What a hottie!
24 Jack Steadman (Bombay Bicycle Club) No clue who this is.
23 Elias Bender Rønnenfelt (Iceage) I wish I had a 'kewl' character in my name. øøøø Should I change my name 2 C▲RLES?
22 Freddie Cowan (The Vaccines) Sounds like a bro.
21 Joe Mount (Metronomy) I wonder if this band is 'bigger' in the UK because it seems like no1 really cared abt their 2k11 release in the USA.
20 Florence Welch Is this the machine ass broad? Sounds kinda like "Lawrence Welk."
19 Orlando Weeks (The Maccabees) I wonder if a band can consider themselves 'successful' if they haven't 'made it in America.'
18 Charlie Fink (Noah & The Whale) I listened to one of their albums and it was all sad.
17 Janelle Monáe Wasn't she buzzworthy last year, and every1 was all like 'she's gonna save pop' but now
16 Gaspard Auge (Justice) Wonder if he regrets releasing a crappy prog rock album.
15 Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) Nvr listened to this band.
14 Katy B Kinda surprised Jamie xx isn't on this list. James Blake, too. I guess he might be 'too dubstep'/too dark 4 NME.
13 Laura Marling Sounds like a company that makes school supplies 4 girls.
12 Dave Grohl Dave Grohl was kewl when he had a big hand, but now he's not really that alt.
11 Noel Gallagher Which brother is this, the oe who is all like 'wah wah' or the one who is all like 'bleehhhh?' ur maah wonderwaaall

</embed>

10 Ellery Roberts (WU LYF) is WU LYF a tshirt brand or something?
9 Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) Weren't they on MTV back in the day?
8 Theo Hutchcraft (Hurts) Kewl name. Wonder if he is related to the video game Starcraft.
7 Rhys Webb (The Horrors) I feel really confused by the disconnect between 'cool' in the USA and 'cool' in the UK bc I honestly believe the USA is way more authentic, aware, and bleeding-edge.
6 Lana Del Rey Lana Del Rey is exactly the kind of thing that the UK would eat up. Her PR/mgmt team probably should have attempted to bring her to market there instead of having to be cyberbullied by American blogs.
5 & 4 Tom Meighan & Serge Pizzorno (Kasabian) [tie] Oh kewl. A tie. Totally fair.
3 Honor Titus (Cerebral Ballzy) No idea who this is.
2 Jarvis Cocker Isn't this bro from a band that doesn't exist any more?
1 Azealia Banks It sounds like this broad is like 'the indie Nicki Minaj.' Album being produced by successful/relevant alt producer Paul Epsworth. I guess this is just 'blackened house music' that will make ppl in the UK feel like they are all 'edgy' in a 'street' way or something.

</embed>

I guess she is just 'the female Tyler the Creator' because she is just some black girl from Harlem who made the world care abt her with sexually explicit lyrics and viral memes. Indie labels are 'launching her' but then she'll have to decide if she wants to get butt/tit implants like Nikki Minaj or Lil Kim in order 2 go mainstream. She will probably just sing/rap over dumbed down house music and every1 will be like SHE IS THE FUTURE/SHE IS SO RAW AND TALENTED until she is no longer 'new' and her songs and buzz become dated. Maybe she is more like 'the Black Lana Del Rey' because she only has like 1 song/music video and every1 is all like 'SHE IS A GODDESS.'

Do u read NME?
If ur from the UK, what kind of person reads NME?
Is Azealia Banks 'sooo kewl' or is she 'just another Santigold/MIA' that will eventually end up being irrelevant unless she marries a billionaire?
Do u know who any of these ppl are?
Do ppl from the UK <3 or h8 'blacks'?
Is this the COOLEST LIST in the history of lists?
Are all these ppl kewl?
Is the USA way cooler than the UK?
Does NME h8 American buzzbands?
Should American publications 'blacklist' more bands from the UK?
Why isn't there 1 buzzosphere that transcends all oceans and borders because of the internet?

EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Arcade Fire give first listen 2 their new jazz-inspired album
</embed>

The Arcade Fire won another 'Best Album of the Year' award from some other Awards System/Show, but because it wasn't an important awards show, they just sent in this pre-recorded message because they are in the studio working on a new album. As u can see, Win Butler delivers a zany message as the band is 'jamming out'. U see Will Butler, the Ginger bro, the other dudes, and even Regine. They claim that the upcoming album is a jazz album.

Does the jazz album sound 'promising', or are they just 'making fun of TV on the Radio' because they claim 2 be inspired by jazz & they blow? via nme:

Arcade Fire's 'The Suburbs' has been voted Best Album at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011.

The band weren't able to attend tonight's (February 23) ceremony at London's O2 Academy Brixton, but sent a video message acceptance speech instead.

"Thank you for naming our album 'The Suburbs' top album," frontman Win Butler said. "We really wish we could be there to celebrate, but we’re working on a new album right now. It's kind of a jazz-inspired thing so hopefully we’ll drop it next year. So thank you, NME, thank you!"

From what I understand, NME is 'just some magazine/website', so hopefully Pitchfork can 'step it up' and have a physical awards show.

Does Win have 'more confidence than evr' now that he knows he wrote one of the best albums of the year?

Does Win 'seem like a funny bro' or does it seem weird that he violated his serious 'no bullshit' brand?
Does win seem like an authentic Canadian dork?

R u worried abt Regine? Does she seem trapped in the Arcade Fire bro dungeon?

Will the Arcade Fire win 'every single Best album of the year award'?
Is NME a legitimate awards show?
Will the next ArFi album 'live up to' "The Suburbs" or will it 'flop'?
Do yall miss Regine? :-(

Salem, MIA, and the Arcade Fire 'dominate' NME's "Top Albums+Songs of year list"

NME is apparently some 'respected music magazine' based in the United Kingdom. Ppl from the UK generally have weird taste in music, and don't really 'get' some of today's most relevant bands. They usually like weirdo garage rock, dubstep, or Radioheady crap or sometimes even random pop singer broads.

Anyways, they did their 'Best of the Year' list/issue or something, and now every1 can 'begin discussing' who deserves 2 be the #1 album of year that will be remembered for 'the rest of time.'

Are 'album of the year' lists 'bullshit' or important 4 branding ur editorial voice?

NME's Top Ten Albums Of 2010 are:

1. These New Puritans – 'Hidden' -never even head this song
2. Arcade Fire – 'The Suburbs' -do they have suburbs in the UK?
3. Beach House – 'Teen Dream' -probs just 'copying PItchfork'
4. LCD Soundsystem – 'This Is Happening' -forgot this album even existed
5. Laura Marling – 'I Speak Because I Can' -who the eff is Laura Marling?
6. Foals – 'Total Life Forever' -think I have heard 1 or 2 songs by them
7. Zola Jesus – 'Stridulum II' -no idea who the eff this is
8. Salem – 'King Night' -great pick, shoulda been #1
9. Liars – 'Sisterworld' -get this band confused with 'Foals' usually
10. The Drums – 'The Drums' -think this band is used in a bunch of commercials

NME's Top Ten Tracks Of 2010 are:

1. Foals – 'Spanish Sahara' -listened to this song, seems emotional/ 'moving'
2. MIA – 'XXXO' -Thought this song is probably 1 of the worst of the year
3. Janelle Monae – 'Tightrope' -trendy post-Pitchfork Kanye 10.0 pick?
4. Kanye West – 'Power' -Wonder what P4k will say is 'the best Kanye Song'
5. Arcade Fire – 'We Used To Wait' -kinda a honky song,
6. Gorillaz – 'Stylo' -think I saw this on mtv. British ppl 'love' Gorillaz and Muse
7. Surfer Blood – 'Swim' -Think they got a lot of buzz in 2k9
8. Grinderman – 'Heathen Child' -would guess that this is a hardcore band
9. Zola Jesus – 'Night' -Sounds boring
10. The Fall – 'Bury Pts 2 +4' -Sounds like a 'trendy' mp3 from 2k4

****
How do u feel abt NME's 'Best of the Year' List?
Does n e 1 'respect NME'?
Does NME just 'copy' Pitchfork?
Is Pitchfork more relevant than NME?
Do u think MIA's "XXXO" is a terrible song?
Should Salem have been rated higher?
Is Salem 'effing terrible'?
Do people from the UK just 'pretend' to 'love' the Arcade Fire?
Can the Arcade Fire resonate with any1 who isn't from the American Suburbs?
What is the #1 album/song of 2k10?

British Magazine NME makes 'Cool List' of generally uncool humans

NME is some British music magazine/widely regarded as 'the British Pitchfork meets Nylon meets Rolling Stone meets blogspot.' Not sure if they really have 'fans' or 'readership' or if they are a big deal or what, but whatever. They are just an internet site like every1 else trying to get 'mad hits' and make mad advertising bank, so they did this thing where they made a 'list' of 75 'cool ppl' that 'u should know abt' because they are 'buzzworthy' and they put it in a photogallery 2 get mad pageviews, and now every1 on this list can tweet abt it like they 'made it.'

Honestly haven't heard of most of these ppl. Doesn't seem very 'kewl' to me, except people from Britain don't really know what is 'kewl.' They sorta just have a bunch of weirdo bands that they like, then start to like American buzz cycle products in 8-24 months.

Here is the list + analysis:

75 Rivers Cuomo (Weezer)
-Cmon yall. 4 serious? Is this 1994? Jesus Christ
74 Lewis Bowman (Chapel Club) Never heard of this person. Sounds like a preacher
73 Caitlin Rose - sounds like a girl who sad behind u in Algebra class who got preggers by senior year
72 James Blake - from what I understand this is a professional tennis player
71 Bradford Cox (Deerhunter) - weak. They must h8 Americans
70 Soulja Boy - Is 'Crank Dat' still relevant?
69 Matt Bellamy (Muse) - Is Muse the new Coldplay? Do ppl 'actually like' Muse?
68 Nathan Williams (Wavves) - Did smoking too much dank hurt his status?
67 Avi Zahner-Isenberg (Avi Buffalo) - Wonder if he changed his name because it sounded 'too Jewish.'
66 Cher Lloyd from X Factor - No idea what this means/who this is.
65 Elizabeth Sankey (Summer Camp) - Sounds like a Christian summer camp counselor who caught u fingerbanging a girl by the lake by midnight, then had to call ur parents to let them know that u lost ur fingerbanging virginity
64 Tom Hudson (Pulled Apart By Horses) - Wonder if this bro was pulled apart by some horses
63 Ernest Greene (Washed Out) - Ultimate shaft. Ernest Bro shoulda been top 10, riding chillwaves. UKbros aren't chill though

Do u think 'list-making' is the ultimate form of online journalism?
Are all of these ppl 'way kewl'?
Can u let me know who some of these ppl are/if they are buzzworthy?
Who got the biggest shaft? Ariel Pink? WAVVES? Washed Out?
Does British ppl have better taste in music/culture than American ppl?
Do u wish u only read magazines and took stuff like this seriously?
Is NME 'authentic' or just a huge pile of poop?
Do yall h8 British press?
Do British ppl h8 American ppl?
Are all magazines/blogs = poop?
Should I make a list of 'kewl shit that's kewl that u should download 2 ur blog iPod'?
Should I take a picture of every1 of my poops for the next year and blg abt it, then make a list at the end of the year ranking the top 300 poops of the year?

‘Respected’ British Magazine NME names Best Coast the Best New Artist of 2k10

From what I understand, NME is 'a big deal' in the United Kingdom, kind of like the 'British Rolling Stone Mag Website'. They are sort of the 'frontline' of tastemaking for many of the horrible UK musical/aesthetic trends that 'blow up' and then people think they are supposed 2 like. Kinda like a publication that keeps telling u the White Stripes are relevant, and u understand they are a 'good band' but don't really understand why 'critics' want u to appreciate them so actively.

N e ways, theymade some list of 'the 50 best new bands of 2010', probably just to get mad hits, and they put Best Coast at #1. Not sure why they did this. Do yall think her music is 'good'? Is the UK a dark and gloomy place, and they are just dreaming of living in the California sun, getting mad danked?

Here is the list. Do yall know if any of these bands are 'worth listening to', or is this just 1 of those lists where all of the artists have been around for ~2 years?

50. Everything Everything
49. Kindness
48. Clare Maguire
47. Funeral Party
46. Active Child
45. Magic Kids
44 Warpaint
43 Gayngs
42 Glasser
41 Avi Buffalo
40. Kisses
39. Wild Nothing
38. Delphic
37. Mona
36. Chapel Club
35. Frankie & The Heartstrings
34. Trash Talk
33. Perfume Genius
32. Veronica Falls
31. Jay Electronica
30. Wilder
29. MNDR
28. jj
27. Flats
26. Freelance Whales
25. James Blake
24. Pure Ecstasy
23. Foster The People
22. Cerebral Ballzy
21. DOM
20. Katy B
19. Mount Kimbie
18. Diamond Rings
17. The Middle East
16. Cults
15. Summer Camp
14. Hurts
13. Giggs
12. Zola Jesus
11. Egyptian Hip Hop
10. Grouplove
09. Yuck
08. Magnetic Man
07. Darwin Deez
06. Marina & The Diamonds
05. The Smith Westerns
04. Sleigh Bells
03. Wu Lyf
02. The Drums
01. Best Coast

Does being at the top of this list mean that she is gonna get 'mad UK sales'?
Do people respect NME?
Do ppl respect Best Coast?
Should I download MP3s by all of these bands so I can try to understand what UK alts like 2 listen 2?
Are yall tired of dying rock magazines making multi-paged listicles for SEO + traffic driving purposes in order 2 'try to stay relevant'?
If u were the editor of a music magazine's website, what list would u make to get 'tons of hits'? Maybe 'the sexiest, skankiest slutwave artists of all time.'
Have diy mp3 blogs replaced mega-brands in indie rock journalism?

Avey Tare named ‘Alt American Icon’ in NME article abt ‘the rebirth of US indie music’

NME is a British 'rock magazine' that may or may not be relevant. Feel like it might just be 'The Rolling Stone' of The UK or something, so not sure if that is 'a compliment' or 'a diss.' I think this is probably just some 'minimal blurb' in their magazine, but Avey Tare got 'coverage' so I guess that is bloggable since he is in a post-buzzband. Might pretend that I still 'honor magazines' as being legitimate, and this is a 'big deal' because one of my fave indie bands got blurbed about.

this seems to be some sort of segment called 'The Rebirth of US Indie Rock.' I guess those ass holes across the ocean are trying to 'take over' the indie brand. Guess they can have it since it is irrelevant/dead n e ways. USA is rlly conceptcore/chillwave/bleep bloopy these days, so I am not sure if we are into 'ghey bands' like The Muse of The Kings of Leon [via the Lion Kings]. h8 u NME for trying to act like the USA doesn't produce the best music in the world. AnCo is gonna take yall down in the World Cup of post-indie bands.

Did Avey disclose 'anything new and exciting' about the band, or is it the same AnCo interview/info that we've been consuming for the past 5 years?

Sorta wish he would talk about 'band beef' or something.
Hope that one day we learn something about 'the dark side' of AnCo, or maybe they will make a traditional rock documentary where they talk about the major rifts in the group, and what ultimately 'kept them together.'

Just want to connect with AnCo, but wish they'd give us a lil bit more.
Guess I'm just gonna have to wait for TOMBOY and hope it is as good as a complete AnCo album.
Wonder if Avey Tare is gonna go on some sort of trivial 'press tour' just 2 try to steal some of Panda Bear's buzz.
Are yall on #TEAMAVEY or #TEAMPANDA?
