Hey, remember:
REMEMBER WHEN THIS SONG CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
It’s a running gimmick where we celebrate songs that took our existences to the next level when we were young and impressionable. Whether it’s Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” or Crazytown’s “Butterfly,” music has the power to bring with world together, kind of like that Project [RED] thingy.

Every one has been creaming their pants over Kanye’s performance(s) at the Grammy’s, but I think it’s tough to top the social magnitude of Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You.” It’s a song that was able to end the Bi-Coastal Rap Wars, and basically pushed Sean Combs into official MOGUL status. Most importantly, “I’ll Be Missing You” provided us with another opportunity where the original songwriter has to perform an awkward, yet over-the-top duet that ‘preserves the artistic integrity of each version of the song.’

It’s difficult to quantify the magnitude of the “alright, I guess I’ll let this black guy rap over my song, even though I’ve only known about him for a month, but my manager said it would be good to get my music out to the cultural lower class” factor. However, I think we can take Sting’s “Desert Rose” as a clear indication that he became disenfranchised by his collaboration with the hiphop community.

It’s nice to know that the dudes who went ‘all-in’ on their ‘Brandon Boyd look’ 8 years ago are staying strong, and getting blazed out of their minds with their long-term girlfriends.

It’s just refreshing that some people don’t think that life is just about being cool, and listening to ridiculous electronic music. Instead, they focus on getting blazed, 99 cent menus, listening to that song ‘Aqueous Transmission’ + talking about spirituality, and hot boxing their Toyota Celicas.
