I remember a long time ago when the Teenagers were remix gods, they had a remix of Au Revoir Simone’s song “Fallen Snow.” Can’t believe history is repeating itself, yall. I feel like I’ve been on the internet for a long time, but it seems like I was listening to teens rmxes just yesterday. Wonder if music has ‘grown’ or ’stayed the same.’ Wonder if bloghouse is ’still alive’ or ‘dead 4ever.’

I listened to the latest Au Revoir Simone album, and I think it is ‘better than their last 1.’ I still think they are just some sort of keyboard club marketing experience for entry-level alt females, and a product for altbros to listen to when remixed by authentic electro producers [via Aeroplane and Shinichi Osawa].

Do yall like this Teenagers remix? Might put this and the original version on mix CD for girl who I am over-aggressively trying 2 date even though she is not smart enough to realize why my personal brand is more authentic than any other bro in my local scene.

I remember back during the Remix Economy’s golden age in 2k6k7, the Teenagers were able to deliver on a wide range of remixes, usually taking the song to a new level. That’s what remixes are for, yall…to appeal 2 more people. <3 cross branding <3

N e ways, have yall heard about Vampire Weekend? They are pretty buzzworthy. I think I saw them on MTV/in a respected online music magazine/saw them on a mainstream late nite talk show.

Who would have thunk that the first time I would listen 2 Vampy Weekend would be [via Teenagers Remix]?

You might remember the popular blog band ‘the Teenagers’ from the era when the blog ‘HIPSTER RUNOFF’ wouldn’t stop talking about them and performed the only real interview in HRO history with them.

N e ways…since I am basically Teenager HQ on the internet, here is a song that was left off REALITY CHECK but included on some single in a foreign country.

I remember Alice Glass used to always have a ‘goth highschool girl with no fashion sense’ haircut/personal brand.

In this picture, she looks like she got a makeover that helps her bring out her natural alt beauty. (Natural Alt beauty is easier to attain than mainstream natural beauty.)

Have u ever wondered what your favourite alt-celebs have to go through when they travel abroad? Even though you would think that your favourite bands like the Justices, The Teenagers, or the Arcade on Fires fly into your homeland and have their way with your village’s women, they actually have to fill out a lot of paper work and stand in lines where normal people stand in lines, too.

Even if ur famous, u still have to go through security stuff because of the War on Terror, or atleast that’s what I read in the Economist Street Journal Times.

This document means that Quentin Teenager can only:

be in Japan for 15 days
must provide proof of being an entertainer
cannot buy real estate in Japan
cannot steal trends from kute lil AZN gurls
cannot impregnate kute lil AZN girls
cannot have a sexual encounter with a kute Japanese girl and write a hit song that provides important commentary on upper-middle-class, alt Japanese youth culture

Have you ever seen the Au Revoir Simone video for “Sad Song”? It is like 3 kute girls having a day of arts & crafts/domestic chores while making earnest, vulnerable eye contact with the camera… Kind of makes me want to settle down with one of them, become a cool dad, and let my free spirited wife make cookies in the shape of electro lightning bolts.

N E WAYS, here is a remix of “Sad Song” that is semi-meaningful. Most Au Revoir Simone songs lend themselves to being the ‘electro-meaningful song’ to put on a mix CD for a girl that you are courting. Entry-level alt girls feel comfortable hearing female voices over earnest electro sounds.

I’m sure we all know Quentin from the band, The Teenagers. He is responsible for the explosion of ‘alt bros cuffing their t-shirt sleeves’ during the summer of 2008.

The Teenagers – “Make It Happen”

Merok has to be applauded for doing such a good job with what we can always assume is a limited alt-video budget. It does a good job of strengthening the Teenagers brand, and utilizing Tron technology. It’s also positive that they went back to the “Starlett Johansson” model of making kute/orgasmic faces into the camera.

Cut Copy – “Hearts On Fire”

I think the Cut Copy music video era peaked when “Saturdays” was made. I don’t know how I feel about the image of the Cut Copy guy “acting” in this video. But I feel kind of badhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif 4 him, though, because sometimes when I don’t get tugged for a while, I feel like it’s raining on me no matter what I try to do to get my mind off it. Maybe I have always had a different vision of what ur Hearts being on Fire meant. In my head, it involves Grey Goose, Sparks, alt broads, tugjobs, drunk txt messages, DJs with masks on, and other stuff that would make my heart be on fire 4 some1 to reach out to them 2nite. Overall, the video reminds me of how awkwardly underwhelming videos for good/upbeat songs can be, kind of like the video for Phoenix’s “Too Young.”

Tal Bachman – “She’s So High”

If this song is remixed by 2010’s best producers, it could really be 2009’s “Young Folks.”
