Just listened to some bullshit mainstream remixes. Feeling depressed

Yall. It's just the weekend. Just hangin out. Listening to music. 'Having a cold 1.' Trying to appreciate life now that the work week is over.

Just listened to three bullshit remixes of mainstream rock artists done by 'authentic-ish' bloghouse/electro artists.

Remix #1: Lenny Kravitz - Let Love Rule (Justice Remix)

</embed>

Yall probably know Lenny Kravitz as some rock bro who is black, and had the big hit about 'wanting to get away--wanting 2 fly away' or something like that. Think it used to be played on the radio/vh1 before the internet/blogs existed. Didn't even listen to this song really. Just feel kind of 'outraged' after Justice remixed U2 one time. Feeling sad. Don't even know 'why' I like/listen 2 bloghouse. Ashamed.

Sort of just want to listen to this song and eat seven 100 calorie snack packs. I think it is about 'escapism.'

Remix #2: Chris Cornell - Part Of Me (Kleerup remix)

</embed>

Not sure what bands Chris Cornell has been in. I think he was in that 'really ghey and inauthentic band' that was formed after Zach De La Brocha left Rage Against the Machine. I think 'Rage' h8ed the 'rap bullshit' that Zach De La Rocha wanted to make, but then realized that they 'let some fruity rock diva bro' into their band, and 'wrote some ghey songs', and then 'got back together' to 'make money' by playing at big festivals. Think Kleerup is branding himself beyond 'some bro who made electro songs for Swedish broads 2 sing on.'

Might start a band called 'The Audioslaves' because it is a metaphor about the modern music industry / signing a record contract / meeting expectations of fans and how that clashes with ur artistic existence.

Remix #3: U2 - Magnificent (Fred Falke Remix)

</embed>

Think that Fred Falke has evolved into a guy who 'makes authentic remixes' by 'high level artists.' I wish that some1 could make me a spreadsheet that listed the price of remixes by every electro artist in the world. Think Daft Punk would probably be #1. The song is 'okay' but 'kind of fruity', but I think that's mainly because it is U2.

*********
Sometimes I wonder if there is a 'point of diminishing returns' when it comes to remixing a 'huge artist.' Sometimes I feel underwhelmed by the product, so it makes me think less of an 'artist who I liked.' Not really sure if there is a way to measure the overall 'impact' that a remix makes when it comes to 'mainstreamers downloading it and looking for the remixer's music.' When do people even hear these 'mainstream remixes'? When they buy an album on iTunes?

confused and lost.
Mainstream = alt?

'rock n roll'

'in the name of love--it was a beautiful day'

When will we know that bloghouse has 'gone mainstream'? [Does Justice remixing U2 mean that 'the world is ending'?]

Grade: 5.639 out of 10 runoffs

Review: I remember when I used to be an altbro in 2k7, I wondered if 'blog house'/'alt electro' would ever become 'good enough' to morph into 'modern pop music.' Feel like I wanted to be a proud father of relevant electro acts, but still feel hostile about these acts 'going mainstream.' Not sure if people even really LIKE Justice, or if new markets just have a demand for an 'electro act that we are supposed 2 kinda deify kinda like the Daft Punks.'

Meaningful-Core Bands

What is Meaningful Rock?

I feel like we're at a time where 'popular indie bands' achieve more critical acclaim than 'popular mainstream bands.' Although the popular bands outsell the 'indie' bands, they both have exposure and acclaim from similar sources. Is there any difference between these high-selling white acts with male lead singers?

Popular & 'respected' mainstream bands:

1. U2
2. Coldplay
3. Radiohead
4. Dave Matthews Band
(...a few others)

Popular & 'respected' indie bands

1. Death Cab for Cutie
2. Arcade Fire
3. The Shins
(...a few others)

Whenever one of these indie bands releases an album, people are like 'omg! I can't believe it's #1 on iTunes! WTF? They r indie! I used to listen 2 them, but not any more.' When it comes to music that white people listen to, I think popular mainstream and indie bands are fighting against all of that Soulja Boy type of stuff, so it's probably time for them to unite into one genre.

MEANINGFUL-CORE MUSIC: Presented by HIPSTER RUNOFF

MEANINGFUL-CORE music can be described as

1. music that makes a general mainstream consumer think that his/her life is more meaningful
2. music that an alt or mainstream person can talk about in a conversation and make them seem 'with the times', 'interesting', and 'on a quest for self-awareness.'
3. music that is structured to seem directly meaningful, cryptically meaningful, or if the singer just looks/sounds earnest and meaningful in some form
4. music that is made by a predominantly male band, with a male lead singer (the voice of a male offers more meaning than a female can offer)
5. music that is created by a band who 'meant it' on their first album, then experimented, then 'got mainstream', then 'meant it' in a cool-dad kind of way later in their career. (no matter what, they always sold out large venues)
6. music that music critics respect, and you can put on a mix CD for a person of the opposite sex to make them think that you 'understand love, life, and everything else that could make a relationship work.'

I think meaningful-core can help explain how the popular mainstream bands and popular indie bands have merged into this one classification. Zach Braff was an innovator by lumping meaningful-core hits into the Garden State soundtrack. At that time, consumers began to think that the music within their iPod should 'give them a more meaningful soundtrack for their lives'.' Each song can make an event like looking out a car window seem really amazing.

DCFC: they look like they really 'mean it.'

Meaningful-core bands can take your existence to the next level. They will help you relate to more people who are searching for meaning in their lives'. Meaningful-core will help you connect with impending sexual partners in a meaningful-kind-of-way. Their albums are important snap shots of the global economy of feelings.

Other bands or artists can have a 'meaningful core hit', but it doesn't always mean that their other stuff will be interpreted as 'meaningful on a mass scale.' For example, that Iron and Wine dude covered 'Such Great Heights', but I think only girls liked that song and that guy. A band like Death Cab can gimmick mainstream bros and entry-level altbros in with lyrics like, 'so this is the New Year... and I don't feel any different. :-( '

Meaningful-Core bands are able to transcend our society as a whole. They transcend media outlets, and they re-think 'antiquated methods of album distribution.' They have a sea of fans who are into being their fans. They have street teams.

Americans first learned that Coldplay was [Highly meaningful] when the music video for 'Yellow' showcased a rising sun throughout the duration of the video.

Subgenres of meaningful core:

Cryptically meaningful bands in an artsy-ish way
(These bands may or may not achieve success in sales, but garner a lot of critical acclaim for being really meaningful)

1. Sigur Ros
2. The Microphones
3. Animal Collective/Panda Bear
4. The Avalanches
5. Boards of Canada
6. The Books
(These bands appeal to people who want meaning through conceptual stuff that is less approachable to mainstreamers.)

Earnest Electro meaningful

(After people 'fell in love with the Postal Service' they were searching for some replacements of earnest electronic music.)

1. The Notwist
2. The Go Find
3. Air
4. Frou Frou
5. Lali Puna
6. only the song "Digital Love" by Daft Punk
7. Only the song "some one great" by LCD soundsystem

"leave me paralyzed, love" - the Notwist

Mainstream rock bands that add 'meaning' to mainstreamers who think they are really unique in a 'I still wear a ying yang necklace' kind of way

1. Incubus
2. Linkin Park
3. Creed (R.I.P.)
4. Tool

******
The Shins sing that 1 song about Caring being Creepy, right? Soo true (and so random)

******

So in conclusion, people are looking for meaning in their lives'. They want to know why they are here, and why their perspective is more special than yours or mine. Music offers a wide range of products that can help users believe that they are more unique, more authentic, more alterntive, more mainstream, and more intrinsically meaningful. While we all have different interpretations of 'what it means to mean something meaningful', we can all find an artist that helps us to feel like we truly connect with what it is that connects those of us who 'understand the human condition.'

Meaningful-core songs are in 25% of iPod commercials. (25% is dedicated to upcoming female stars, and 50% is dedicated to 'dancey fun stuff that alternative people listen to.)

Filling this iPod with meaningful-core music could make your head start secreting the gel-form of meaningfulness.

Plz elaborate on or refine any theories proposed in this bl0g p0st.

What Music Will Sound Like in 2008 (Part 4 of 5)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2BqLlVHlWA&rel=1]

I love love love U2 because I wake up to the song "Beautiful Day" and fall asleep listening to "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

They are HANGIN with my fave rapper Lil Wayne! I honestly haven't hung out with any1 except one time I went to lunch with the other temp who works at the office across from me. It got awkward when she told me she was dating my ex, and that my ex cheated on her too. She is just too sad and pathetic for me. She bums me out so bad!

I hope they write an MP3 together!

I love love love THE EDGE! He is my dream man. Bono who? #TeamEdge

I gotta go see all of them in concert! Come to my city, yall! I'll bring some Papa John's!

Vintage Indie Band INTERPOL will tour with U2

You might remember Interpol as one of the first highly critically acclaimed indie bands that was absorbed into 'the mainstream machine', then never made another album that meant as much to as many people as their debut album Turn on the Bright Lights.  Can't believe they are 'opening up' for U2 more than a decade after they are relevant.  This seems like a 'huge error' or perhaps Interpol is looking to 'squash' all of the other 'indie' releases this year with 'sick crazy' album sales.

Interpol seems to be a divisive band/idea in the mp3 blogosphere.  Popular music website Pitchfork Media went 'on record' as calling their 2007 album Our Love To Admire a 'shit sandwich' in a recent blurb. In 2007, P4k gave this record a 6.0, even before the inflated rankings of the chillwave era.

U2 has built a massive 'claw' under which the band performs on tour. This stage setup is meant to fill huge football stadiums, generate mad sales, and theoretically offer the fan a unique concert-going experience.

It seems to be a 'larger than life' experience meant to change the lives' of mainstreamers having a meaningful time. Probably people who go to a concert once every 10 years. One concert can attract more fans than an indie band could attract on their entire 20 date tour.

We cannot confirm that Interpol is still relevant. We cannot confirm that their new album will be 'worth covering'/blogging about.

In addition, U2 will bring The Fray and Lenny Kravitz on tour on their mega stage.
Do u think Bono listens 2 interpol?
Was this union brought about by high powered PR agents?
Does Bono need to listen 2 more blog rock + chill wave + ternative?
