Can't believe 2k10 is 'flying by.' So many album cycles, but no real 'clear cut album of 2k10 fave' just yet. Feel like we are still waiting for the buzzosphere to 'officially cream their pants' abt 1 album, but no single album has been 'good enough' to warrant mass spoogage. Really wish we had a 'gold standard' of 2k10, because as of right now, it is like we are all worshiping different Gods, valuing different versions of 'divine truth.'
Maybe we took for granted 2k9. I feel like that was possibly the 'peak' of the blogosphere, back when we had tons of positive vibes to share, and we weren't looking to tear down old indie bands like we are in 2k10. 2k10 seems really 'defensive' like we are protecting some the idea of some era that might never have existed, and hesitantly waiting for a new album that transcends our existences. Every time an album fails to come thru, we can't help but have a huge meltdown, reflecting on better days.
Do u think 2k10 has been a 'good year' for music or a 'shitty year'?
What has changed between 2k9 and 2k10?
Will 2k11 be a better year because
What are the chances that these relevant albums will win album of the year?
//////// MGMT - Congratulations
Seems 'impossible' that any website would mortgage their brand to 'take a stand' for this album. Even if people took the 'radical approach' and tried to make it sound like a masterpiece, it still wouldn't really be believable.
More than likely, this will be named the 'biggest flop' of 2k10, and it will enable websites to write overly in-depth articles about 'how and why' MGMT 'went wrong.' Like this album will be a case study on 'how not to manage sophomore release.' Feel like a lot of indie bands will study this flop, and do their best to make fans happy instead of writing a 'far out, trippy album.'
/////// Beach House - Teen Dream Beach House seems to have 'delivered', and will probably be a 'Top 5 lock' just because it is 'their time' to become Tier 1 alt celebs. I think their product is generally consistent, and they produce buzz mp3s on schedule, so they deserve to be rewarded. Much like we honor McDonalds with our business for providing a consistent product, we honors Beach House for serving us adequately every 2 years.
Does n e 1 know if Beach House is a 'band' or just 1/2 people?
////
Toro Y Moi - Causers of This
Wonder how this album will 'do' at the end of the year. I think Chaz Bundick probably needs to release another EP towards the end of 2k10 to 'remind every1 about his brand.' Worried that people might forget about chillwave era buzz mp3s by 2k10.9.
This album seems like it could 'finish anywhere.' Feel excited and scared. I think his brand has 'gotten stronger' since the album release, so maybe if he releases a few more music videos or EPs, people will still feel excited about the brand, and have a positive memory of his album.
Is the chillwave era 'dead' or just 'dormant'/'hibernating'?
Will formal music critics care about chillwave, or are they just looking forward to writing about Neon Indian in 2k11, and how he outgrew the chillwave genre?
//// The National - not sure what the name of their album is
People apparently 'really like this band' or something. Not sure what they sound like. I'm sure they will end up in some top 10 lists since people find them to be meaningful, but also those same people might just go with the Arcade Fire instead.
2k8: you were an extension of 2k7.
While u were not 2k7, u perpetuated what 2k7 brought us
and for that
we thank u/resent u/find u 2 b an inauthentic transition period
where what was once alternative
became
//////////mainstream/inauthentic.
It's kinda weird how there's nothing to blog about between Xmas and the New Year. It's like you really 'start to reflect' on the year behind u & the people in ur life. It makes memes seem cheap and meaningless. Can't wait til my 'daily routine' goes back 2 normal bc I value my sense of alternative normalcy. Kinda weird being at home, feeling a little bit vulnerable.
I've been thinking about a lot of important stuff.
Should I retire from blogging?
Should I make my blog less/more authentic?
Should I ever post an electro mp3 again?
Is my life different now that the new Animal Collective leaked?
What's next for HRO?
Is there n e thing left 2 blog about?
Should I be nervous about Barry Obama taking office?
What about the electro wars?
Are AZNs gonna survive 2k9?
Will n e 1 ever authentically 'get' me?
Will I ever find what I am 'looking for'?
Can I start a Fight Club and blow up credit card buildings?
Will I get drafted after Iran drops a nuclear bomb on Israel?
Will I ever 'recover' from my parents' divorce?
Will I ever become1 with humanity?
Will 2k9 be about anything else other than searching 4 an authentic way of life?
Will an increasing population of inauthentic alternative mainstreamers make my quest more difficult than ever?
If I had 2 go 2 war, would I rather have a set of flaming skulls or pistols?

2k8: u did ur best.
2k8: full of regrets?
2k8: no regrets?
2k8: the year I 'lost my virginity'?
2k8: the year HRO became the only friend who 'gets' me
2k9: a branding experiment
2k9: will I 'fall in love'?
2k9: I will become more/less dependent on the internet
2k9: the year I got 'a smart phone with a touch screen.'
Let's get serious, yall. TV on the Radio isn't as good as people would like to pretend that they are. Not sure why they are 'gettin s0 much love' from Best of 2008 Lists by 'Music Magazines with Tastemaking opinions.' Not that I listened to their 2008 masterpiece DEAR SCIENCE, but still, you can tell it is weinery just from listening to 7 seconds of the 'single' from it.
TV ON THE RADIO is a band that people think they are supposed to appreciate. These people are not sure why they 'like' TV on the Radio; however, aligning their personal brands with TV on the Radio makes them a more cultured/culturally-connected person. TV on the Radio is a band with 1 white dude and a bunch of black dudes. TV on the Radio apparently makes music that 'is inspired by a bunch of different genres.' However, I would compare the end product to SLOP, the food item that u feed 2 pigs. In order 2 feed pigs, all u need 2 do is mix the leftovers and scraps from your family's dinner table.
I feel like 'liking TV on the Radio' is something for people who:
don't actually listen to music
enjoy music based on 'what authentic buzz sources' claim 2 b 'authentic'
enjoy liking bands that aren't accessible to entry levelers but actually just aren't accessible to any one
I remember when TV on the Radio went on Letterman. They were too alternative to perform on the stage like every1 else, so they decided to have a meaningful fire escape show. Now I kinda wish clubs had fire escapes instead of stages.
They participate in meaningful sideprojects that are shitty/mediocre, but they provide Music News Meme Generators to 'blurb about' more TV on the Radio coverage
They are the kind of band that thinks their music is a healing mechanism for the world.
They take themselves seriously, enabling them to 'take risks' that other people think they are supposed to take seriously.
Needlessly high production value that requires the use of $200+ noise-canceling headphones (this appeals to people who order gimmick products from SkyMall magazines).
I remember when I was an entry-leveler/pure altbro, I went to a TV on the Radio concert. The white guitarist guy made every one in the audience take out their keys to 'use as percussion.' I looked all around me. The crowd began dangling their keys in rhythm with a babbly TV on the Radio song, grinning with delight as they 'authentically appreciated the venue's acoustics.' I immediately walked out of the venue. While my life is meaningful, a part of me realized that it wasn't meaningful enough to participate in a collective concert experience.
Let's be honest, yall. TV on the Radio's music has gotten progressively worse since their first album. They only have a few good songs. "Staring at the Sun" and "Wolf Like Me" are alright. It's just hard for me to take the bro who claims that "TV ON THE RADIO = AWESOME" very seriously.
You also can't underestimate the opportunity for white people to 'like/appreciate' music that 'black people' make, particularly when it doesn't sound like music that 'black people traditionally make, but since black people are making it, u can still kinda hear the authentic-aesthetic that only artists whose ancestors are [via Africa] can generate (kinda like Jazz/afro beat/etc.).'
The name of our album includes the word 'science.' This means that we understand 'humans after all' on a level that goes beyond social interactions and generic 'gripes about society.' We are also on record as 'Bush Haters.' TV on the Radio is also one of those Radiohead-esque bands where you don't know what the hell they are talking about, but you get the sense that it is 'relevant commentary on a metaphorical level that isn't worth questioning.' They sort of remind me of a band of 'intellectual dropouts who rope you into a conversation about modern issues to prove that they didn't need an education 2 stay informed/cultured.'
It's always interesting when a band 'takes themselvez seriously.' While you usually see this in your local scene with a band who is trying to 'make it' and just end up looking like douchebags/their band sounds like conceptual p00p, TV on the Radio has 'made it' and garnered worldwide acclaim. Maybe they are 'okay', and maybe I just don't 'get it', but just wanted 2 let yall know that I'm not interested. If yall tastemaking magazines want 2 start selling magazines/generating ad impressions, yall are gonna have to start putting less conceptual crap on your top 10 lists. (Katy Perry: #1 artist of 2k8?)
I just have this image of a 35 year old man reading P4k/Rolling Stone/NME/SPIN's best of 2k8 list, going on iTunes to buy the top 3 albums, halfheartedly listening to them, then going back to listening to meaningful songs from the late 90s, 'back when good music was more than just weirdo conceptual crap that people had 2 pretend is awesome.'
"TV ON THE RADIO? More like POOP IN MY MP3 PLAYER."
- a modern music critic whose gimmick is incorporating the word 'poop' into his reviews
Childish Gambino's "Camp" was widely regarded as the biggest joke of an album of the year. Even Pitchforkmedia.com 'panned the eff' out of it with a 1.6, making sure that every1 knew it was 'totally irrelevant' and the 'biggest disgrace to rap' since Asher Roth. Anyways, P4k had some sort of 'reader's poll' where voiceless people who are bored enough to think that their opinion matters 'chimed in' on what they thought the most underrated albums of the year were. It was probably just a bunch of college dude bros who were in the middle of drinking a brewski and arguing with their dorm room buddies about the album of the year. They were all like, 'U totally effed up P4k! Camp by Childish Gambino is actually a great piece of art', then they went back to watching Episodes of 'Community Office Recreation' or whatever dying NBC show Donnie Glover is on.
Here are the most 'underrated' albums according 2 'Pitchfork readers.'
01. Childish Gambino: Camp
02. Radiohead: The King of Limbs
03. Wild Beasts: Smother
04. Panda Bear: Tomboy
05. Youth Lagoon: The Year of Hibernation
06. Wilco: The Whole Love
07. Destroyer: Kaputt
08. The Strokes: Angles
09. Yuck: Yuck
10. Arctic Monkeys: Suck it and See
'Dude [underrated album] by [underrated band] was actually kinda really good because [dumb reason]. It doesn't matter if they are [generally accepted perception of the band], what should matter is good music. And they achieved it.' -college dude bro talking about indie music
U have to wonder if this is the validation that Donald Glover was seeking with his Childish Gambino project. Maybe he 'won' indie rap after all...
Did 'Camp' deserve a 3.2 instead of a 1.6?
Did Donnie Glover 'win over the masses'?
Will Pitchfork 'extend an interview' to Donnie Glover in order 2 milk this meme beef for hits + indie history?
Has Donald Glover 'won' the indie rap game?
Can Donald Glover take down Kanye West?
Do people confuse 'tv/movie stars' with 'real musicians'? [via the Zooey Deschanel theory]
Also, these are Pitchfork readers 'fave albums' of 2k11.

17. The Antlers: Burst Apart
18. Childish Gambino: Camp
19. Youth Lagoon: The Year of Hibernation
20. Yuck: Yuck
Should Pitchfork change its editorial mission 2 'pander' 2 its readers, or should it 'remain progressive' and push readers 2 vibe in an altered zone?
Do u prefer Danny Glover or Donny Glover?

How do u feel abt this list?
Who got 'shafted'?
R u sad there were no 10.0's in 2k11?
Who got 'overrated'?
Are indie markets changing?
Is lamestream dubstep house pop the 'best music in the world'?
Is chillwave officially 'over' because it didn't crack the 'top 10'?
Is Tony Gonzalez [via M83] cracking open a bottle of champagne?
Have u heard of these bands?
Are there 2 many bands?
Is this 'shocking'?
Are blogs 'dying'?
If u listen to a song on Spotify [via 'The Cloud'], is it really an MP3?
How do u feel now that the city is ur church?
Should we all just 'quit' indie / music?
Should we all just live in silence?
NME is sorta like the lamestreamer who ruins anything that might have been considered remotely cool just because they like it. To them, 'jumping on a hype bandwagon' is pretty arbitrary, but at the same time, it can be predictable because the UK isn't really a 'tastemaker.' They are the type of country who thinks MUSE, The Killers, and Kings of Leon are 'the best bands on the planet.' Don't get me wrong, the USA is effed up too because we keep worshipping Radiohead. But I'd rather live in a 3rd World Country where I only listened to emo and dubstep than be into what is considered 'cool' in the UK. As far as I'm concerned, this is basically some sort of industry blacklist.
Anyways, NME released a 'Cool List', which is just an excuse to 'make a list of shit' that ppl 'get excited about', publicists can act like it 'means something', and unfortunately for the some of these artists, this is the biggest accomplishment of their career. It will be the first and last time I ever hear of them.
Do u <3 lists of shit?
Do u agree with this list?
Are these ppl 'kewl' / innovative / 'it' / 'now' / 'the future'?
BREAKDOWN OF NME'S 2011 COOL LIST 50 Liam Gallagher - Is that the bro in Oasis who writes the songs or the one who sings the songs? Didn't they breakup or something? Are they the MGMT of the 90s bc they never wrote any songs as good as "Wonderwall" after their debut? 49 Ronnie Vannucci (The Killers/Big Talk) My name is Brandon Flowers, and I'm a Mormon.
48 St. Vincent U gotta feel bad for Annie Clark 4 not even being 'cool enough' to place in the top 10. 47 Merrill Garbus (tUnE-yArDs) I wonder if 'crazy woman screaming'-core is big in the UK 46 Reni (The Stone Roses) Are they referring to the failed 90s alt rock band Remy Zero? 45 Johnny Llloyd (Tribes) Sounds like a guy who is a bouncer at a bar. 44 Jordan Gatesmith (Howler) Sounds like a bro who just wants to howl [via being a wolf] 43 Toddla T Is this the rap career of that kid who stole a car and cruised it around town bc he wanted 2 do hoodrat things?
42 Nick Wire (Manic Street Preachers) Sounds like a bro who is a human made out of a wire. 41 Bethany Costentino (Best Coast) This would be excusable in 2k10, but 2k11 was a Bethany-free year 40 Orlando Higginbottom (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) Sounds like a children's book. 39 Fred Macpherson (Spector) Sounds like a bro 38 King Krule This lil ginger bro keeps trying to get forced down our buzz throats, but no1 is really buying it. 37 Björk She's probably as low as #37 on Iceland's Cool List. 36 Frank Turner Sounds like a guy who u went to HS with who wants to be a cop. 35 Tyler, The Creator (Odd Future) If u a magazine editor, Tyler the Creator should be in the top 10 of anything because of the pageviews he generates in 2k11. However, English ppl generally h8 black ppl. 34 Ian Brown (The Stone Roses) Sounds like some bro in a crappy VH1 rock band. 33 Hayden Thorpe (Wild Beasts) Sounds like some random bro in a band 32 Miles Kane No clue who this is. 31 ASAP Rocky Isn't this some other thug-ass indie rapper who is getting buzz? I wonder if he is 'the Lupe Fiasco of indie rap'. I don't know what that means. 30 Kanye West I guess he will always be 'kewl', even when he is an old man who can't wipe his own ass. 29 Kurt Vile Always hear this bro's name but never did anything relevant enough 2 invade my sphere of relevancy. 28 Tom Cohen (Scum) Is his dad Leonard Cohen? 27 Drake British ppl h8 mainstream American rap. They would probably put that dumb white rapper who is called THE STREETS higher than Drake. 26 PJ Harvey Wasn't this dude 'kewl' in the 1990s or something? 25 Christopher Owens (Girls) What a hottie! 24 Jack Steadman (Bombay Bicycle Club) No clue who this is. 23 Elias Bender Rønnenfelt (Iceage) I wish I had a 'kewl' character in my name. øøøø Should I change my name 2 C▲RLES? 22 Freddie Cowan (The Vaccines) Sounds like a bro. 21 Joe Mount (Metronomy) I wonder if this band is 'bigger' in the UK because it seems like no1 really cared abt their 2k11 release in the USA. 20 Florence Welch Is this the machine ass broad? Sounds kinda like "Lawrence Welk." 19 Orlando Weeks (The Maccabees) I wonder if a band can consider themselves 'successful' if they haven't 'made it in America.' 18 Charlie Fink (Noah & The Whale) I listened to one of their albums and it was all sad. 17 Janelle Monáe Wasn't she buzzworthy last year, and every1 was all like 'she's gonna save pop' but now 16 Gaspard Auge (Justice) Wonder if he regrets releasing a crappy prog rock album. 15 Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) Nvr listened to this band. 14 Katy B Kinda surprised Jamie xx isn't on this list. James Blake, too. I guess he might be 'too dubstep'/too dark 4 NME. 13 Laura Marling Sounds like a company that makes school supplies 4 girls. 12 Dave Grohl Dave Grohl was kewl when he had a big hand, but now he's not really that alt. 11 Noel Gallagher Which brother is this, the oe who is all like 'wah wah' or the one who is all like 'bleehhhh?' ur maah wonderwaaall
10 Ellery Roberts (WU LYF) is WU LYF a tshirt brand or something? 9 Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) Weren't they on MTV back in the day? 8 Theo Hutchcraft (Hurts) Kewl name. Wonder if he is related to the video game Starcraft. 7 Rhys Webb (The Horrors) I feel really confused by the disconnect between 'cool' in the USA and 'cool' in the UK bc I honestly believe the USA is way more authentic, aware, and bleeding-edge. 6 Lana Del ReyLana Del Rey is exactly the kind of thing that the UK would eat up. Her PR/mgmt team probably should have attempted to bring her to market there instead of having to be cyberbullied by American blogs. 5 & 4 Tom Meighan & Serge Pizzorno (Kasabian) [tie] Oh kewl. A tie. Totally fair. 3 Honor Titus (Cerebral Ballzy) No idea who this is. 2 Jarvis Cocker Isn't this bro from a band that doesn't exist any more? 1 Azealia Banks It sounds like this broad is like 'the indie Nicki Minaj.' Album being produced by successful/relevant alt producer Paul Epsworth. I guess this is just 'blackened house music' that will make ppl in the UK feel like they are all 'edgy' in a 'street' way or something.
I guess she is just 'the female Tyler the Creator' because she is just some black girl from Harlem who made the world care abt her with sexually explicit lyrics and viral memes. Indie labels are 'launching her' but then she'll have to decide if she wants to get butt/tit implants like Nikki Minaj or Lil Kim in order 2 go mainstream. She will probably just sing/rap over dumbed down house music and every1 will be like SHE IS THE FUTURE/SHE IS SO RAW AND TALENTED until she is no longer 'new' and her songs and buzz become dated. Maybe she is more like 'the Black Lana Del Rey' because she only has like 1 song/music video and every1 is all like 'SHE IS A GODDESS.'
Do u read NME?
If ur from the UK, what kind of person reads NME?
Is Azealia Banks 'sooo kewl' or is she 'just another Santigold/MIA' that will eventually end up being irrelevant unless she marries a billionaire?
Do u know who any of these ppl are?
Do ppl from the UK <3 or h8 'blacks'?
Is this the COOLEST LIST in the history of lists?
Are all these ppl kewl?
Is the USA way cooler than the UK?
Does NME h8 American buzzbands?
Should American publications 'blacklist' more bands from the UK?
Why isn't there 1 buzzosphere that transcends all oceans and borders because of the internet?
After Kanye West received a 10.0 from Pitchfork Media, a relevant online magazine, every1 thought it was going to be 'the year of the Kanye.' Every1 had him pencilled in for 'album of the year', and every1 assumed that every song+skit on his album would reserve the top 10 spots of the list would be reserved for his album.
However, Ariel Pink had other plans when the lofi songstress penned "Round and Round." It seems like he 'yoinked' the #1 spot, completely shafting Kanye West.
Pitchfork's top 20 songs of 2k10.
01. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - "Round and Round"
02. Kanye West [ft. Pusha T] - "Runaway"
03. LCD Soundsystem - "I Can Change"
04. Robyn - "Dancing on My Own"
05. Big Boi [ft. Cutty] - "Shutterbugg"
06. Kanye West [ft. Dwele] - "POWER"
07. Joanna Newsom - "Good Intentions Paving Company"

14. Sleigh Bells - "Rill Rill"
15. Crystal Castles [ft. Robert Smith] - "Not in Love"
16. Beach House - "Norway"

18. Titus Andronicus - "A More Perfect Union"
19. How to Dress Well - "Decisions (feat. Yüksel Arslan)"
20. Erykah Badu - "Window Seat"
Thoughts and reactions:
40% of the top 10 is 'African American artists'
James Murphy's LCD Sounsystem was 'overrated' on this list because it is more than likely his 'swan song' of relevancy
The Arcade Fire's "Sprawl II" would have been rated higher if Regine didn't sing it
Joanna Newsom is not 'poppy enough' so Robyn had to be placed in the top 10 to make sure girls + gays had a song 2 'be proud of'
Crystal Castles might consider adding Robert Smith to the lineup after their placement on this list
Beach House didn't really have any 'great mp3s' this year.
Should Ariel 'dump' the Haunted Grafitbros and 'go solo'?
Who were the notable omissions from this list?
Which songs/artists on this list 'suck'?
Do u think Best Coast and WAVVES feel like 'failures' for not cracking the top 10?
Who was the biggest failure of 2k10?
Do u think M.I.A. and MGMT were 'pissed' abt this list?
Is Pitchfork 'eternally relevant', or is the 'negrofication of pitchfork' happening [link]?
Should I dance around with a mangina, vibing out to Ariel Pink's "Round and Round"?
Gorilla Vs Bear is known as a 'highly relevant' mp3 blog that has some of the 'most respected taste in mp3s' in the 'history of the indiesphere.' It is a breeding ground for emerging buzzbands and genres, and known as 'one of the most authentic mp3 blogs on the planet.'
It seems like they made their annual 'best of the year' list, and Beach House won, a bunch of relevant buzzbands 'placed well', and most importantly, Kanye West was 'nowhere to be found' on this list. While GVB does tend to appreciate music by African American artists, the blog editor opted to 'bypass' Kanye and instead include Big Boi and Erykah Badu as being more relevant/noteworthy in 2010.
This seems like it is a great 'branding strategy' to differentiate itself from Pitchfork as Pitchfork goes 'directly after the African American audiences', indie fans can find 'safe haven' / 'indie asylum' on gorillavsbear.net.
Here is the blog's 'controversial' list of the best albums of 2k10.

Reactions based on this list:
Beach House has earned 'alternative tenure', becoming one of indie's 'heavy hitters'
Ariel Pink is finally 'indie mainstream' enough to be better than a quirky 5-15 range pick
Didn't WAVVES and Best Coast come out this year? Guess they flopped rlly hard even though they get blggd abt
Need to listen to ~40% of these bands because they are either 'too black' or 'too indie lofi' 4 me
Is Gorilla Vs Bear's list 'right'?
Do u think it was 'sweet' that GVB 'shafted' Kanye West to differentiate the blog brand from Pitchfork?
Is Kanye 'automatically going to win' p4k's album of the year?
Has Beach House 'made it'?
What 'stands out' abt this list?
What should be 'the album of the year'?
NME is apparently some 'respected music magazine' based in the United Kingdom. Ppl from the UK generally have weird taste in music, and don't really 'get' some of today's most relevant bands. They usually like weirdo garage rock, dubstep, or Radioheady crap or sometimes even random pop singer broads.
Anyways, they did their 'Best of the Year' list/issue or something, and now every1 can 'begin discussing' who deserves 2 be the #1 album of year that will be remembered for 'the rest of time.'
Are 'album of the year' lists 'bullshit' or important 4 branding ur editorial voice?
NME's Top Ten Albums Of 2010 are:
1. These New Puritans – 'Hidden' -never even head this song
2. Arcade Fire – 'The Suburbs' -do they have suburbs in the UK?
3. Beach House – 'Teen Dream' -probs just 'copying PItchfork'
4. LCD Soundsystem – 'This Is Happening' -forgot this album even existed
5. Laura Marling – 'I Speak Because I Can' -who the eff is Laura Marling?
6. Foals – 'Total Life Forever' -think I have heard 1 or 2 songs by them
7. Zola Jesus – 'Stridulum II' -no idea who the eff this is
8. Salem – 'King Night' -great pick, shoulda been #1
9. Liars – 'Sisterworld' -get this band confused with 'Foals' usually
10. The Drums – 'The Drums' -think this band is used in a bunch of commercials
NME's Top Ten Tracks Of 2010 are:
1. Foals – 'Spanish Sahara' -listened to this song, seems emotional/ 'moving'
2. MIA – 'XXXO' -Thought this song is probably 1 of the worst of the year
3. Janelle Monae – 'Tightrope' -trendy post-Pitchfork Kanye 10.0 pick?
4. Kanye West – 'Power' -Wonder what P4k will say is 'the best Kanye Song'
5. Arcade Fire – 'We Used To Wait' -kinda a honky song,
6. Gorillaz – 'Stylo' -think I saw this on mtv. British ppl 'love' Gorillaz and Muse
7. Surfer Blood – 'Swim' -Think they got a lot of buzz in 2k9
8. Grinderman – 'Heathen Child' -would guess that this is a hardcore band
9. Zola Jesus – 'Night' -Sounds boring
10. The Fall – 'Bury Pts 2 +4' -Sounds like a 'trendy' mp3 from 2k4

How do u feel abt NME's 'Best of the Year' List?
Does n e 1 'respect NME'?
Does NME just 'copy' Pitchfork?
Is Pitchfork more relevant than NME?
Do u think MIA's "XXXO" is a terrible song?
Should Salem have been rated higher?
Is Salem 'effing terrible'?
Do people from the UK just 'pretend' to 'love' the Arcade Fire?
Can the Arcade Fire resonate with any1 who isn't from the American Suburbs?
What is the #1 album/song of 2k10?
The Arcade Fire is a 2k0s indie band that went mainstream because their songs sound like meaningful anthems. They pretend to be Canadian but Win Butler (lead singer) is actually from Houston, TX.
