Beirut is an formerly trendy folkwave band with too many members led by Zachary Francis Condon. In the mid 2k0s, self-conscious teens told each other they were "really into Beirut" in order to seem unique + authentic.
Zachary Francis Condon started Beirut in Santa Fe in 2006. He got into "Balkan Folk Music" after traveling in Europe and then started recording music with a bunch people.
